After Stephanie Hubbard was eliminated, the last three players looked at each other’s stacks, talked it through, and came to an adjust payout agreement. Jacob Millstein had the chip lead and took home $22,202 for the win while Diane LePara banked $19,000 and Ming Ng walked away with $17,000.
This is the second Borgata Saturday win after winning the very first Saturday Series event back in 2011.
1st: Jacob Millstein – $22,202
2nd: Diane LePara – $19,000
3rd: Ming Ng – $17,000
Stephanie Hubbard was down to ~1,800,000 and made a couple moves to stay afloat then tried again. It folded to Jacob Millstein in the small blind and he put in a stack big enough to cover Hubbard. She took a peek at her cards and quickly called.
It was a flip and Hubbard took the lead on the flop. The turn kept her in the lead but the two out came on the river for the expected exit for Hubbard in fourth place.
Jacob Millstein – 6,250,000 (39 bb)
Stephanie Hubbard – Eliminated in 4th place ($8,504)
Jason Rovner was the leader at the last break but nothing went well for him from that point forward. He dropped a bit and then went to battle with Min Ng. Rovner opened from the cutoff and Ng moved all in from the small blind for 1,240,000. Rovner called and ran into a big hand.
Rovner needed to catch to send the tournament down to four players but the queens held on the board to send Ng a big double. Rovner was left with under 300,000 but managed one double up before Diane LePara sent him out in fifth place.
In a battle of the blinds, Brian Shafer (small blind) and Diane LaPera (big blind) saw an all-heart flop and they got all their chips in the middle.
Shafer was drawing to runner-runner perfect straight flush cards, somewhere around 0.10%, and was drawing completely dead after the turn to sixth place. They counted down the stacks and LePara’s 1,915,000 had him barely covered.
Diane LePara – 3,830,000 (38 bb)
Brian Shafer – Eliminated in 6th place ($5,500)
Jason Rovner opened to 250,000 from under the gun and Min Ng three-bet shoved from the hijack for 1,095,000. Abraham Korotki moved all in for slightly more and Rovner folded.
Korotki was in tough shape and could not catch up on the run out and Ng doubled while Korotki was left with 245,000. He doubled on the next hand and he tried again on the next.
This time Jacob Millstein three-bet to 1,200,000 and Stephanie Hubbard called all in for 1,095,000. Millstein had a chance for the double knockout but Hubbard was way out front.
Hubbard’s monster was dominating and the all-low board gave her the huge pot while denying Korotki his tenth Borgata title.
Stephanie Hubbard – 3,440,000 (43 bb)
Min Ng – 2,640,000 (33 bb)
Jacob Millstein – 1,350,000 (17 bb)
Abraham Korotki – Eliminated in 7th place ($4,422)
Jason Rovner opened to 160,000 from early position, Abraham Korotki called on the button, and Lewis Epstein called from the big blind to the flop. All three checked, the turn came and they all checked once again. Epstein bet 215,000 after the river, thinking he was all in, but he had a 5k chip protecting his cards. Rovner elected to call the 215,000 and Korotki folded.
Because Epstein was not all in, he did not have to show his cards after Rovner showed his straight. He was down to half an ante and we sent out on the next hand.
Jason Rovner – 4,250,000 (53 bb)
Lewis Epstein – Eliminated in 8th place ($3,345)
The eight remaining players took a quick ten-minute break to get the yellow 1Ks out of play and they are set to resume with Jason Rovner and Jacob Millstein out front.
Seat 1: Stephanie Hubbard – 1,355,000 (17 bb)
Seat 2: Min Ng – 1,200,000 (15 bb)
Seat 3: Brian Shafer – 1,015,000 (13 bb)
Seat 4: Abraham Korotki – 1,585,000 (20 bb)
Seat 6: Diane LePara – 1,730,000 (22 bb)
Seat 7: Lewis Epstein – 905,000 (11 bb)
Seat 8: Jacob Millstein – 3,460,000 (43 bb)
Seat 9: Jason Rovner – 3,700,000 (46 bb)
Jason Rovner limped from middle position and Stephanie Hubbard moved all in for 546,000 from the hijack. Diane LePara moved all in from the big blind with her big stack, Rovner quickly released, and the hands were flipped up.
Hubbard needed a lot of help to stay in the game but blanked the flop. She added a gutshot draw but it was her paired seven on the turn that put her in the lead. She made trip sevens on the river to double up.
Stephanie Hubbard – 1,222,000 (20 bb)
Diane LePara – 1,700,000 (28 bb)
Abraham Korotkis limped from early position and Frank Williams raised to 150,000 next to act. Jason Rovner called in the small blind, Mike Dobbs called in the big, and Korotki called after his limp. The flop came and Rovner checked. Dobbs bet 300,000, Korotki folded, and Williams moved all in for ~950,000.
Rovner wasted no time with a check-raise all in and Dobbs called at risk for less.
Rovner flopped the joint and had the biggest stack against Dobbs’ flush draw and Williams pocket kings. The turn changed nothing and the river sent Dobbs and Williams out while Rovner took a huge chip lead.
Jason Rovner – 4,700,000 (94 bb)
Frank Williams – Eliminated in 9th place ($2,268)
Mike Dobbs – Eliminated in 10th place ($1,474)
The slowdown did not last long. Event 4 lost three players in quick succession, including tough pros Katie Stone and Jason Rivkin, to reach the final table ten with Abraham Korotki and Diane LePara holding the biggest stacks.
