The Event 1 Borgata Deepstacks Challenge field is filling up fast and there are already more than 160 entries and counting. There are plenty of familiar faces scattered throughout the Poker Room.
Ralph Macri was among the early arrivals and he is fresh off a victory here during last month’s Borgata Winter Poker Open. Macri bested the stacked 1,129 entry field in Event 9 the $300 Deepest Stack NLH.
Before a single hand was dealt in heads-up play Macri and Everton Taylor struck a deal and Macri took home $50,000 along with the Borgata Winter Poker Open trophy.
He has now earned more than $838,000 throughout his career and he is already mixing it up in plenty of pots as we approach the first break of the day.

Mike McGuinness raised to 150 from early position and the player on the button re-raised to 1,000. The small blind called and McGuinness made the call. They went three handed to the flop and the small blind checked to McGuinness who tossed out a bet of 1,000.
The button quickly folded and the small blind check-raised to 7,000. McGuinness wasted no time moving all in for about 35,000 and the small blind instantly fired his hand into the muck.
McGuinness turned over his for a flopped straight and he is off to a fast start with about 45,000 here in the early levels.
Event 1 of the Borgata Deepstacks Challenge is now underway and the Poker Room is filling up fast. This event is a $100+$20 buy in with a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Players will begin with 30,000 in non-value tournament and the levels will be 25 minutes long. Players may Re-Enter tournament if they bust out prior to the end of Level 9 (unlimited Re-Entries). Players must receive “ReEntry tag” from dealer after being eliminated and present “Re-Entry tag” along with original (“white copy”) tournament receipt to Cage to Re-Enter. No Refunds.
This is a one day event and we will be crowning our first Borgata Deepstacks Challenge Champion of the series here tonight.
